Council approves the Township of Adjala-Tosorontio's budget on an annual basis. The budget is broken into two categories - Capital and Operating. The Capital budget covers long term investments like infrastructure and facilities. Examples of Capital expenses include building and rebuilding of roads, maintenance of municipal facilities, and new equipment. The Operating budget covers the daily expenses to deliver municipal services, such as salaries and wages, supplies and energy costs.

2024 Budget

Council adopted the 2024 Municipal Capital and Operating Budget at its Regular Council Meeting held on February 14th, 2024.

2024 Budget Process

The 2024 Draft Municipal Budget will be presented to Council during a series of Special Council Meetings to be held on the following dates: 

  • December 18, 2023 at 9 a.m. Capital Budget Workshop - CANCELLED
  • January 8, 2024 at 9 a.m. Operating Budget Workshop
  • January 15, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. Operating Budget Workshop - CANCELLED
  • January 24, 2024 at 9 a.m. Capital and Operating Budget Second Workshop

Please note additional dates may be scheduled , if required. 

In addition, two Public Meetings will be held at the Regular Council Meetings of January 10th, 2024 and February 14th, 2024 to provide members of the public with an opportunity to provide input into the 2024 Draft Capital and Operating Budget.  

The 2024 Draft Capital and Operating Budget binder is expected to be published in early December.
