Adjala-Tosorontio Township proudly boasts of our strong agricultural roots, picturesque rural setting, a premier quality of life and a safe community while being close to amenities in major urban centres in Southern Ontario.

The Township has a total population in 2011 of 10,603 persons (Stats Canada, 2011) 

Our Township has a strong economic future due to its strategic location as the south-west gateway to Simcoe County from the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and associated transportation corridors linking Southern Ontario to markets in the USA and Mexico. We are minutes from Pearson Airport. With the Rezoning of the 400 acre (162 ha) Highway 89 Employment Corridor lands in Adjala-Tosorontio Township completed in October 2013, the Township is open for business. ​

​Everett is the largest community in Adj​ala-Tosorontio located at the intersection of County Road #13 and County Road #5, just north of Highway 89. Township Council recently approved a Secondary Plan and expansion to the rural community of Everett which is plan​ned to grow to a more complete community.

The businesses in Adjala-Tosorontio include cash crops, dairy farms, nurseries, and equestrian centres. Locals and visitors alike enjoy fresh farm gate produce at a number of our heritage farms. Innovative agricultural-based businesses abound in Adjala-Tosorontio including the award-winning Sheldon Creek Dairies.

Adjala-Tosorontio Is home to Canadian Forces Base Borden and is steps away from Honda Canada two of the largest area employers. Over 120 small to medium sized firms call 'Adj-Tos' its home base. There is also a strong home-based business component in our Township.

Adjala-Tosorontio Township Council has a highly visible 400 acre employment corridor designated and zoning approved for development (industrial-commercial) along Provincial Highway 89 that is just west of the community of Alliston.

The Township of Adjala-Tosorontio is continuing its pursuit of upgrading the telecommunications network within the Township including the creation and maintenance of telephone lines, cable, satellite and cellular towers.

​Adjala-Tosorontio Township is home to a multitude of recreational pursuits, including Earl Rowe Provincial Park which offers camping, hiking, swimming, bicycling, skiing and fishing.

County forests and Toronto and Region Conservation Authority lands offer many hiking trails and bicycling routes throughout the Township which are enjoyed by local and visitors alike. The Oak Ridges Moraine offers a challenging terrain but rewards the user with its natural settings and beautiful sightlines.​

Fine restaurants, retreat centres, bed and breakfast establishments and pet resorts puts our area's hospitality front and centre. We are also well known for our recreational sports fields including baseball diamonds, soccer fields and golf courses!

Adjala-Tosorontio Adjala-Tosorontio Township includes within its borders, Provincial routes Highway #9 and Highway #89 which provide strong east-west accessible just-in-time linkages just 20 minutes from Highway 400. County Road #50 (former Provincial Highway #50) provides an established north-south linkage into the GTA and links to the regional, national and international markets. In addition, the Township maintains an excellent internal road system to the advantage of residents and businesses alike.
