The Township of Adjala-Tosorontio is meeting to monitor, discuss and address local concerns in response to COVID-19. The Township is taking precautions based on recommendations from other levels of government and health authorities.

The Township of Adjala-Tosorontio is committed to ensuring the safety of our staff, residents, Council, and volunteers as well as reducing the spread of illness.

As per the new Emergency Order enacted by the Province of Ontario, no new non-essential construction is to start effective January 14, 2021. If you have been issued a permit prior to the time, you may continue with your construction. Only (1) person may accompany the Inspector on site. All applications and supporting documentation can be submitted electronically or the drop box located in front of Municipal Office entrance.

  • Applicants will be notified of total permit fee. Payments can be made by cheque through the drop box. 
  • Only exterior structures and non-occupied dwellings can be inspected at this time.
  • No final or interior renovation inspections of occupied dwellings can be inspected at this time.

  • Residents can obtain zoning and property information by email or phone 705-434-5055 ext.223
  • Fees must be paid by cheque when submitting a planning application, zoning certificate, or zoning compliance letter. All fees are payable as per the Fees and Charges By-law 20-07.

  • For Payment online through your financial institution for tax payment use your 19 - digit roll number as the account number (no dashes or spaced). 
  • For Payment online through your financial institution for water payment use the 10-digit account number as the account number (no decimal). 
  • For bill payments through the drop box please include provide a copy of your bill. We will stamp and send a receipt back to you via the mail.

  Face Coverings in Public
The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit has advised that as of Monday, July 13, 2020, when you enter into a public indoor space a (e.g. grocery store, community centre, shopping mall, hair salon, library, place of worship, etc.), or use a public transit service in Simcoe Muskoka, you will be required to wear a face covering.


A face covering means a medical or non-medical mask or other face covering such as a bandana or scarf that covers the mouth and nose.


Children under the age of 2 or those under 5 who cannot be persuaded, are not required to wear a face covering, as well as individuals whose health or ability, or cultural or religious reasons would prevent them from doing so. No proof of exemption is required.
